Meet Me!

January 1, 2013

Dear Year One Family,

Hello!  My name is Mrs Tracey Hansen and I am very much looking forward to our learning journey together this year. Our first day of school  will be Tuesday the 29th of January.  I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me.

I was born and raised in a country town two hours west of here - Warwick.  My loving Mum and Dad had a son as well who began my little brother. We enjoyed lots of outdoor play, swimming and horse riding among other childhood adventures. Our family time was full of picnic and camping in beautiful nature spots.

After high school, I attended the University of Southern Queensland where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Education. I then taught in the early childhood area Mainly Preschool, Year 1, year 2 and Year 3  for the next 16 years until I was blessed with my own beautiful son, Ben.  Over the last 6 years of raising Ben with my beautiful husband Craig I have had the opportunity to further my studies, research and experience in aiding our children to develop their full potential naturally, holistically and confidently.

Four years ago we moved from our cottage up on Beechmont Mountain down to Canungra. We decided that we wanted to live in such a welcoming community. My passion is working with children and I'm thrilled to be starting my 1st year here at Canungra State School.

Over the past few months I have enjoyed walking with my husband and son Craig and Ben, reading by the creek, and traveling to Warwick to visit family.  Some highlights of my summer were, building a cubby, looking for the right pieces of furniture to make our classroom warm and cosy, swimming in the Canungra pool and a trip to Byron Bay.

Since I've shared a few things about myself, I'd love to know something special about you!  If you could, please draw a picture or write a story about something fun you did this summer.  On the first day of school we will share our drawings and stories to our new classmates . I am  keen to meet you and look forward to our first day of school.  See you soon!

Love

Mrs Hansen

What Kind of teacher do you want?

This is the way I start our year together.  I love hearing what the kids want.  This hangs up in our classroom all year.
